About Massage Therapy

Massage therapy in British Columbia is a regulated practice, which means therapists are required to complete their schooling at an accredited collage, be registered and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of BC (CMTBC), and complete ongoing continuing education throughout the course of their careers. Massage therapists must adhere to the CMTBC’s bylaws, Code of Ethics, and Standards of Practice. More information on massage therapy in BC can be found at the CMTBC website

Meet Your Therapist

Christina Cox completed her training at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2007, and began practice in 2008. Over the years, Christina has worked in various settings, including care homes, spas, and a multidisciplinary wellness centre. These diverse environments have given Christina the skills and experience needed to work with a wide range of clients and conditions. Christina’s approach to massage is thorough and compassionate, and tailored to each client’s individual needs. She strongly believes in the importance of the mind-body connection to overall health, and because of this, she aims to create a sense of relaxation within every treatment. Her passion for helping people is the driving force behind her practice, and Christina’s ultimate goal is to help her clients improve their quality of life.

What to Expect

  • Before your first massage, please make sure to check your email inbox and/or junk mail for your clinical intake forms. These forms must be filled out prior to your treatment, and if not done beforehand will take time out of your treatment to complete.
  • Each massage treatment begins with an assessment. This may include (but is not limited to) an assessment of mobility, posture, or muscle strength, and will require you to describe any current symptoms and health conditions. This is a mandatory part of every treatment, and is included in your treatment time.
  • Your therapist will discuss a proposed treatment plan with you, as well as how to get on the table. Please ask as many questions as necessary, and voice any concerns to your therapist. The best outcomes arise from thorough communication and understanding!
  • After your treatment, your therapist will discuss any homecare recommendations, and arrange for future appointments if necessary.
  • Accepted forms of payment are cash, debit, and credit card.
  • Direct billing available for Pacific Blue Cross, Medavie, Greenshield, Canada Life, Manulife, and all other insurance companies registered with the Telus EHealth portal.

  • Masks are recommended for all patients, and are available upon request
  • All linens are changed and laundered after every treatment

  • Therapist will wash hands before and after each treatment
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for therapist and patients
  • If therapist develops a new cough, fever, or any other symptoms deemed contagious all treatments will be rescheduled until symptoms have improved
  • Any patient who has developed a new cough, fever, or any other symptoms deemed contagious must reschedule their appointment to a later date

Cancellation Policy

If you need to reschedule your appointment, you must call or email a minimum of 24 hours in advance of your appointment. Failure to do so will result in a 50% charge of your booked appointment fee, or 100% if no communication is received (deemed a “no-show”). Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you, and out of respect for wait-listed clients cannot be transferred to family or friends.

We know that sometimes life just happens – illness and family emergencies often don’t give advance warning. In recognition of this, and operating under good faith, the first two late cancellations will not be charged. If two late cancellations occur within a 6-month period, we will require a credit card on file in order to book further appointments, and any subsequent late cancellations will be charged at 50% of the booked appointment cost.

Failure to show up for an appointment with no attempts to cancel or rebook will result in being charged 100% of the appointment fee. Two no-shows (regardless of time period) will require a credit card on file to book further appointments.
